Okay, time to get together for our next happy hour of the year!
Our happy hour will benefit Pamoja Library, a nonprofit organization that promotes a reading culture and literacy among vulnerable children and youth in Kenya… requested $5 or $10 cash donation (but not required). https://pamojalibrary.org/. Please note 80% of donations go to Pamoja Library and 20% of donations will go to the 20s & 30s Going Out Group to cover Meetup fees and expenses.
DJ Saam will be spinning beats for us. Our happy hours typically bring out 100 – 150 folks… and I wouldn’t be surprised with a similar turnout this time around (Note: I’ve been getting this question a lot lately, but please know our 20s & 30s Going Out Group’s RSVP numbers are not inflated due to signups from a previous “rotating” or “recurring” event).
(Meet new people)
If you haven’t been there before, Rosebar offers a sophisticated retro-chic feel with a sleek lounge atmosphere! 21+
(Socialize some more)
To help continue the friendly tone of this group, I’d like to again encourage each person to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE at this event. To help do this, for an icebreaker, we’ll put your name in a jar as you walk in, and then give you someone else’s name from the jar. Also, 20s & 30s Rockstars, please help make all the newcomers feel welcome to our group!
METRO & PARKING
The closest Metro is Farragut North (Red line), about a 4 minute walk, and Farragut West (Orange, Blue, Silver lines), about an 8 minute walk. I suggest Metro / cabbing / Uber’ing if you can. I also recommend using wmata.com for travel planning. Don’t forget to account for Metro, traffic, and parking delays. If you are driving, you will need to find street parking or a garage. I recommend using parkopedia.com for garage parking planning.
Most people will be coming from work, so business casual will be the norm.
If you have any special needs (e.g. wheelchair, dietary for events with food included, etc.), let me know in advance (a week or more before the event) and I will do my best to accommodate (message me through my Meetup profile, do NOT comment on the event posting). If you let me know the day of the event, I cannot guarantee that I will be able to help. Thank you for understanding and I appreciate the courtesy of a heads up!
